About Me
Having originally studied at the London College of Printing and at Goldsmith’s College, where I received the post-graduate Art Teacher’s Certificate, I taught Art and Design for 15 years from GCSE to degree and post-graduate level. More recently, I completed a three-year course in experimental textile art.
My work has sold privately and commercially in the UK at shops and galleries including Liberty, the South Bank Centre and Leeds Craft and Design Gallery, and in Sweden, Germany, France, New York and San Francisco.
I now work and teach from my studio in Ditchling, East Sussex, where I am a regular member of the (in)famous Grey Ladies life-drawing group – the name refers to the slates on the founder’s house, rather than the hair colour or general pallor. Apparently.

Themes
I am drawn to landscapes with low horizons and evocative skies, unpredictable light and colour, and challenging proportions. I have held a life-long fascination with maps and journeys, and these are often reflected in my work, whether overtly, cryptically or subconsciously.
I am currently working on a series of paintings reflecting the shapes and colours of St Ives and the work of Barbara Hepworth.
Illustration & Consultancy
I have extensive experience of the world of printed textiles, both furniture and apparel, and have produced a number of colourways for various companies including Romo.
From my work in book illustration and corporate logos, this example reflects recent corporate identity work for a children’s language project, using collage, paint and ink.
