Having originally studied at the London College of Printing and at Goldsmith’s College, I taught Art and Design for 15 years from GCSE to degree and post-graduate level. More recently, I completed a three-year course in experimental textile art.
My work has sold privately and commercially in the UK at shops and galleries including Liberty, the South Bank Centre and Leeds Craft and Design Gallery, and in Sweden, Germany, France, New York and San Francisco.
I now work and teach from my studio in Ditchling, East Sussex.
This site is currently being refurbished. In the meantime, to see examples of my work and sources of inspiration, please visit my Instagram page.
A selection of high-quality art prints and original work will soon be available for sale in my online shop.
Open Studio May 2019
My studio will be open each weekend in May (and both bank holidays) from 11 am to 5 pm as part of the Art In Ditchling trail of artists’ open houses during Brighton Festival. I’ll be showing new paintings, drawings, fine-art prints, and handmade cards, and I’d love to see you there.
Parking is available at the workshops or behind the village hall in the centre of Ditchling, and a pop-up café will be serving refreshments.
I lead sessions for adults and young people at my studio in Ditchling or (in warm weather) at nearby places of interest, with emphasis strongly placed on direct observation and working with a variety of drawing materials. Teaching is tailored as far as possible to address each student’s individual requirements, and numbers are strictly limited.
- All abilities from beginner to GCSE, A-level and degree
- Adult classes
- Classes for young people 11 to 18
- One-to-one coaching / lessons / tutorials
- Support for your individual projects
- Portfolio development and support for coursework
- Termly extended weekend workshops
Sessions for young people last 1½ hours and cost £15 per session, paid termly in advance. Prices for adult sessions depend on number in group. In all cases, prices include most drawing materials and refreshments during the sessions.
In all cases, pre-booking is essential.
You’ll soon be able to click here to pay for sessions online using a credit or debit card, or your PayPal account if you have one. If this is your first booking, please contact me before paying to check that space is available and to make sure that the sessions will be suitable for you or your child.
