Bernadina is drawn to landscapes with low horizons and evocative skies, unpredictable light and colour, and challenging proportions. She has held a life-long fascination with maps and journeys, and these are often reflected in her work.

Bernadina is currently working on a series of paintings reflecting the shapes and colours of St Ives and the work of Barbara Hepworth.

Check here for details of exhibitions in and around Ditchling ...

Bernadina is a regular member of the (in)famous Grey Ladies life-drawing group – the name refers to the slates on the founder’s house, rather than the hair colour or general pallor. Apparently.

Please contact Bernadina if you would like to discuss having drawings made of you or your loved ones, or to buy a gift voucher.

The recommended process consists of at least two sittings: the more sittings, the better the quality of the final drawing and, usually, the closer the likeness.

All work is produced on acid-free paper using high quality materials.

Drawing sessions for adults and young people

Bernadina leads sessions at her studio in Ditchling or (in warm weather) at nearby places of interest, with emphasis strongly placed on direct observation and working with a variety of drawing materials. Teaching is tailored as far as possible to address each student’s individual requirements, and numbers are strictly limited. Pre-booking is essential.
